[Sonic] The Last Frontier: Ch. 9Sandy and I left Mr. Johnson’s office, keeping quiet until we were completely outside the building.[Sonic] The Last Frontier: Ch. 9 by mjponso
“That was unexpected,” I said. “I didn’t really think we’d find out that much information from someone in the company. Do you think he was being truthful?”
Sandy was still lost in thought. “I honestly don’t know, Sonic, but it has got me thinkin’: maybe I was wrong to assume this was all the doing of the railroad folks. I’m sure that’s part of it, but if the railroad’s buyin’ land from the gov’mint, then we’ve definitely gotta look into that next.”
Our next destination was the capitol building where the territory government was bound to conduct all its business. Going there probably would’ve taken less time if we had spotted it on our previous outing, but since we didn’t have that foresight soon enough, we resorted to asking people on the
[Sonic] The Last Frontier: Ch. 8During the course of the night, I found myself dreaming of my old life back in Knothole, with my friends, and all the times we shared, whether teaming up against Robotnik or just hanging out. With every passing day in this new timeline, those memories began to slip away little by little, like I was watching all of it unfurl on a TV screen. It gave me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach to think I would likely never see their faces again. Here I was, stuck centuries in the past in a different part of the world, and the closest thing I had to a friend was the lonely gray squirrel that was curled up on the other side of the bed. I could only imagine how she was feeling about all this, minding her own business in her quaint little frontier town until the notice came that threatened to erase her town from existence. Sandy had been standing over me with her hands on her hips, before walking over to the window to throw open the curtains and flood my face with bright morning light. I shielded my eyes and sat up, yawning. I wasn't feeling nearly as rested as the previous morning; whether that was from being worn out by all the running yesterday, or if I had simply slept fewer hours, I wasn't sure.
"I'm sorry about that, Sandy. Did I oversleep?" I mumbled.
She shook her head. "No, but we ain't gonna git to the capital any time soon if we sleep the whole day away."
I gave her my pillow and bed sheet, and she made the bed neatly. After gathering our belongings, we headed downstairs to leave, passing by the dining room where we saw the old squi
I have my favorites categorized. In one category, I put all the pictures from other artists that I've helped work on (usually by coloring). In another, I put pictures from artists that were created for me.
EDIT -- I should probably rephrase that last comment. Since writing this description, I've become a bit less...uptight about how I define a favorite. I'll add a picture to my favorites if it's something I believe is worth seeing again.
Though I might be a mechanical engineer by profession, creative work has long been a hobby of mine. I'm not one to let a good idea go to waste, no matter what it is or where it might come from, which is why my creative work spans everything from writing to hand drawing to digital art and 3D modeling.
