Angles Among Us

A little while back, I was browsing the Wikipedia article on the Interstate Highway System and realized how there is an interstate for every number that ends in five or zero up to 100. Having seen a protractor that day as well, the idea popped into my head to combine these two ideas: interstate highway numbers with angle markings.

Depicted are small curved-corner rectangles with dotted borders so as to resemble reflectors placed on edges of signs often found along interstate highways. On each appears an interstate symbol for each interstate 5 through 95 by fives, as well as a directional arrow (used to indicate the direction of an exit) which happens to be pointed towards the same angle off the horizontal that is indicated by its respective interstate symbol. (The pattern of lines and numbers in the lower right corner of the picture are meant to facilitate this correlation.) Notice the pattern of the arrow directions as the signs are viewed top to bottom, left to right.

The title of this work is meant to be a pun on the word "angles" and the phrase "angels among us" -- it is not misspelled.
